Is Google Pay Safe & Secure?
How Google Pay keeps your card details protected.
Yes — Google Pay is a secure way to pay both online and in-store.
When you make a payment, your actual card number isn’t shared with the merchant. Instead, Google Pay generates a unique virtual card number for each transaction, which is encrypted and stored securely on your device.
Each payment is verified using a one-time security code, and you must authenticate payments with your phone’s security features — like Face ID, fingerprint, or passcode.
Using Google Pay for Transport:
If you use Google’s Transport Pass, you can pay for public transport without needing to authenticate each time. You can toggle this on or off in your Google Wallet under:
Security → Verification Settings
To stay safe:
Make sure you only add your Yeeld card to a device that belongs to you and is secured with a passcode or biometric login.
