How Do I Review and Confirm a Transfer?
Learn how Yeeld helps protect your payments with Confirmation of Payee checks, transfer confirmation and security verification before your money is sent.
How Do I Review and Confirm a Transfer?
Before a payment leaves your Yeeld GBP Account, Yeeld performs a number of security checks to help protect you against fraud and reduce the risk of sending money to the wrong person.
Here's what happens before your transfer is completed.
Step 1: Add a New Beneficiary
Before sending money to someone for the first time, you'll need to add them as a beneficiary.
As part of this process, Yeeld performs a Confirmation of Payee (CoP) check.
This compares the account name you've entered against the banking industry's records to help confirm you're sending money to the intended recipient.
Confirmation of Payee Results
You may receive different Confirmation of Payee outcomes.
For example:
- Match – The account details match the intended recipient.
- Partial Match – Some of the details match, but you should check the information carefully.
- No Match – The details don't match the banking records and should be checked before proceeding.
In some situations, you may still be able to continue with the payment.
However, we strongly recommend only sending money when you have a positive Confirmation of Payee result.
Step 2: Saved Beneficiaries
Once a beneficiary has been successfully added, they'll be saved to your beneficiary list.
You won't need to complete another Confirmation of Payee check each time you make a payment to the same beneficiary unless their details change.
Step 3: Review Your Transfer
Before your payment is sent, you'll be shown a confirmation screen displaying the transfer details.
Take a moment to check that everything is correct, including:
- Recipient name
- Sort code and account number
- Payment amount
- Payment reference
Once you're happy, confirm the transfer.
Step 4: Security Verification
Before the payment is authorised, you'll be asked to verify it's really you.
Depending on your device, this may be completed using:
- Face ID or your device's biometric authentication, or
- A one-time passcode (OTP) sent to your registered mobile number if biometric authentication isn't available or cannot be completed.
Only after this security check has been successfully completed will your payment be authorised.
Payment Screening
After you've confirmed your payment, it may be subject to additional security and fraud screening.
Most transfers are processed quickly, but some payments may remain in a Processing state while additional checks are completed.
If this happens, our team will review the payment as quickly as possible before it is released or, if necessary, contact you for further information.
In Summary
Every payment made from your Yeeld GBP Account goes through several security checks to help protect you and your money.
These include:
- Confirmation of Payee checks for new beneficiaries.
- A transfer confirmation screen.
- Face ID or OTP verification before authorisation.
- Fraud and security screening before the payment is processed.
These checks help reduce fraud and ensure your payments are sent as safely as possible.
