Can I Open a Personal Current Account as an International Student in the UK?
Everything you need to know about opening a Yeeld account as an international student, including ID and proof of address requirements.
To open a Yeeld personal current account, you’ll need to provide:
-
A valid government-issued photo ID (such as a passport)
-
A video selfie
-
A document that confirms your UK address
If you’re an international student, we accept a letter from your UK university confirming your term-time address, as long as:
-
It’s from a recognised university
-
It’s signed and dated within the last 3 months
-
It shows your campus accommodation or term-time address, including any flat or room number in the correct format
Example address format:
Line 1: Apt. 12
Line 2: 12 Bank Street
Area: London
Postcode: E14 5NR
We’ll need to match the address exactly as provided in your application, including flat or room numbers. If your document is unclear or cropped, we may ask you to resend it — so please ensure all four corners of the document are visible when uploading.
All Yeeld accounts are subject to eligibility criteria.
