Can I Skip Certain Steps During Account Setup?
Some steps in Yeeld’s setup are required to get started, while others—like Face ID or full verification—can be completed later depending on how you use the app.
When setting up your Yeeld account, you’ll go through a number of steps designed to get you up and running quickly while ensuring the app works properly from day one.
Some steps are mandatory, while others can be skipped or completed later.
Steps you cannot skip
These are required to create and access your account:
- Email address – Used for account access and communication
- Phone number – Required for security and verification (OTP)
- Accepting Terms & Privacy Policy – A legal requirement to use Yeeld
- Password setup – Needed to log in to the app and web portal
- Passcode setup – Enables secure and quick access to the app
Steps required for your Yeeld experience
These steps are essential to make the app function properly:
- Personalising your experience
You’ll be asked for things like your age band, salary band, and region.
This isn’t about collecting exact personal data—it helps tailor insights and improve how the AI works for you. - Connecting a bank account
Yeeld is built around analysing your financial data. Without connecting at least one external account, features like insights, tracking, and AI guidance won’t work.
This connection is done securely using open banking and is required to use the core product features
Steps you can skip (optional)
- Face ID / biometric login
You can skip this and use:- Your passcode to access the app
- One-time passcodes (OTPs) for transactions
You can always enable Face ID later in your settings.
After onboarding (upgrading to Yeeld Companion)
If you choose to upgrade to the paid Yeeld Companion subscription, there are a few additional considerations:
- Direct Debit setup – Required
This is how your subscription fee is collected after any trial period ends. - Identity verification (KYC) – Not immediately required, but important
You can upgrade without completing KYC, however your access will be limited.
Without verification, you won’t be able to use key features such as:
- Opening a Yeeld account
- Sending or receiving money
- Accessing investments (ISAs, pensions, etc.)
These services require identity verification as part of regulatory compliance and fraud prevention controls
In summary
- Some steps are required to create and use your account properly
- Some features can be enabled later for convenience
- Full functionality—especially financial services—requires identity verification
This approach ensures you can get started quickly, while still unlocking more powerful features when you’re ready.
